Session:Winter 2025 Chapter: Houston Location: Klein United Methodist Church Time: 5:00pm - 6:55pm Day: Monday Starts: 11/11 Ages: 10 - 14 Tuition: $295.00
Description
Sign up for this class to be part of our "School Days Fantasy Plays" Project Play Festival!
Zach and Lilly arrive home from school upset about the troubles from their day — Zach’s friend is getting pushed around, Lilly is being left out by the “mean girls” who rule the school, and both of them are worried about being called tattle-tales. Granny tells them a seemingly unrelated whimsical, magical story... but it might just help them overcome the bullies they face at school. In Granny’s helpful story, Jack and Jill stand up to a mean and tough ogre and a wicked witch with the help of a wide variety of helpful fairytale friends.
Full of fun roles, this imaginative show explores the difficult problem of bullying and the many different forms it may take. Students will come away empowered with the knowledge that there are several creative solutions for different ways bullying manifests itself.
Project Play classes are different than our standard courses.
1. Project Play classes audition and rehearse a one-act play during the regular class period through the session, but will also have an additional class on Thursday, January 30, at Klein United Methodist Church in Spring. This will be a dress rehearsal and all classes will have an opportunity to run their show on the stage. It is crucial that ALL students are able to attend that Thursday night class session.
2. All Project Play classes will perform at our ticketed CYT Houston Project Play Festival on FEBRUARY 1st beginning at 6pm. The Festival will be the culminating performance for all of our Project Play classes and a wonderful chance to celebrate the Straight Play genre of theater together. Registration in this class also includes 2 tickets to the play festival.
3. Project Play classes have a specific maximum number of students based on the script that is being used. Once the class is full, we cannot add more spaces.
To participate in this class you must be committed to participating in the live performance on FEBRUARY 1, 2025.
Class dates for this Project Play class are: November 11, 18

Hello! I was in CYT for five years, involved in shows such as The Music Man, Alice in Wonderland, and High School Musical (twice!). I have a deep passion for all things that involve theater, but especially character building and thusly bringing those characters to life. When not on stage I enjoy learning new songs on my piano, drawing, and teaching. My ultimate goal is to give back what CYT has given me; joy, friendship, and laughter!
