Description

So you’ve auditioned for a musical before - now what? How do we continue to grow and improve our audition skills? This class will focus on building your audition book, learning to be comfortable performing in front of a group, finding a new perspective when approaching an audition, enhancing your abilities to pick up a dance audition combination, and how to best prepare for callbacks. You will also get a sneak peak into a casting director's mind when they are put to the test while casting your own mock musical production. All of these things together will help an auditioner feel cool, calm, and collected when walking into an audition!
Prerequisite: Must have taken at least two classes previously OR been in one of our full-length main-stage CYT productions during the school year.

Teacher:

Morgan Yovanovich [Teacher]

Howdy! I’m Morgan and am thrilled to be teaching classes for CYT! I’ve participated in dance, to include ballet, tap, jazz and partner dancing, since the age of 4 and in musical theater productions since the age of 12. I found my real theater family after moving to Texas my freshman year of high school and joining CYT where I participated in 17 productions throughout high school. My hope is that all students at CYT will be blessed with the same joy, friendships, love of theater and growth in faith that I’ve experienced here!

Teacher:

Maddie Reid

Maddie is a Registered Nurse with a love for musical theatre and teaching. She performed in musical productions with CYT starting at twelve years old, and since aging out, she has been on the artistic team for multiple CYT productions. She is so excited to finally be back in the Houston area so she can continue both passions of nursing and performing, all while keeping Christ at the center of it all!
