Teacher:

Victoria Tonsfeldt

Victoria Tonsfeldt is a vocal performance major at Sam Houston State University, with a deep passion for training young singers to learn a variety of vocal styles, all while maintaining excellent vocal health. She began arts training at a very young age, performing in summer stock musicals, school and church theatrical productions, singing in choirs, and taking voice and piano lessons. Victoria has competed and been awarded in many voice and opera competitions, such as Texoma NATS, Greater Houston NATS, The NOA Robert Hansen Scenes Competition, and SHSU Art Song Festival and Contest. She sang for four years with her University Chorale and Opera Theatre, with which she performed various operas, scenes and musical theatre numbers. She also sings on a worship team and in the church choir. Victoria is thrilled to finally start teaching at CYT, which she has considered a second home since she performed in the CCT Houston production of Beauty and the Beast. She has performed in every CCT Houston production since 2020, and recently began working on CYT artistic teams. She wants every child she teaches to know they were made perfectly by their Creator, and that the best thing they can learn is to praise Him boldly with their own unique voice.
