Description

Ever wondered how makeup artists are able to achieve all the specialized makeup techniques you see on stage and film? Now you learn all that and more in a fun, hands-on makeup class. This class introduces students to the basic anatomy of the human face, and the methods, materials and techniques used to alter the appearance of themselves and others through the use of the fundamentals of stage makeup and prosthetics used to create different characters and looks for different styles and types of theatrical productions. Each week will have a different focus. We will work through learning the basics of highlight and shadow, regular theatre makeup, old age, animals, time period, specialty, wounds, fine art and more.

Students will keep up with their finished works in a Stage Makeup Morgue to examine all makeup designs and applications for future reference.

This class will require purchasing a Ben Nye Theatrical Creme Makeup Kit, NOT the Ben Nye Theatrical Personal Kit. *These are more affordable at mom and pop shops (like Danny’s Tricks and Kicks) as opposed to Amazon and Walmart.
