Sign up for this class to be part of our "School Days Fantasy Plays" Project Play Festival!

Have you ever felt like you don’t belong? Powerless Charlie sticks out like a sore thumb in a school full of superheroes. Smellinator can’t control her powers and forgot to do her Villain 101 homework. Golden Boy won’t follow protocol. And Toxic Sludge is, well, toxic sludge.
When a supervillain attacks the school Charlie must dig deep within herself. She may not be a superhero but she discovers her unique talents to save the day.
A fabulous play that looks at friendship, acceptance, and discovering yourself. Who doesn’t want to be a superhero?

Project Play classes are different than our standard courses.
1.  Project Play classes audition and rehearse a one-act play during the regular class period through the session, but will also have an additional class on Thursday, January 30, at Klein United Methodist Church in Spring.  This will be a dress rehearsal and all classes will have an opportunity to run their show on the stage.  It is crucial that ALL students are able to attend that Thursday night class session.
2.  All Project Play classes will perform at our ticketed CYT Houston Project Play Festival on FEBRUARY 1st beginning at 6pm.  The Festival will be the culminating performance for all of our Project Play classes and a wonderful chance to celebrate the Straight Play genre of theater together.  Registration in this class also includes 2 tickets to the play festival.
3.  Project Play classes have a specific maximum number of students based on the script that is being used.  Once the class is full, we cannot add more spaces.

To participate in this class you must be committed to participating in the live performance on FEBRUARY 1, 2025.
Class dates for this Project Play class are:
November 12, 19
December 3, 10, 17

January 7, 14, 21, 28   PLEASE NOTE:  The 28th is showcase night for other classes.  Project Play will have a standard class night.
January 30 - Mandatory Dress Rehearsal at Klein United CLC - Students will be called at 5:00pm and released between 8:00 and 9:00pm
February 1 - Project Play Festival at Klein United CLC - Tickets will be available online.  Students will be called at 4:00pm and released at the end of the festival.

I have been a part of CYT since 2010 when my daughter joined this wonderful organization. She is now all grown up with kids of her own and I'm so happy to still be with CYT! I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music in Therapy from Sam Houston State University and I LOVE to sing! During the past 10 years I have been honored to serve at CYT in the capacity of Costumer, Teacher, Director, Vocal Director, Tour Group Director, Show Coordinator, and CYT@school Coordinator. I'm so blessed that God has given me the opportunity to work with so many talented individuals and to share His love with others through CYT!
