Description

Fall down the rabbit hole, through the looking glass, and into the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland where we’ll learn the magic of theater! This class invites students to explore the fundamental skills of acting while immersing themselves in the fantastical world of Lewis Carroll’s beloved tale. Students will learn key theatrical concepts such as projection, blocking, physicality, and emotional expression—all through the lense of the imaginative characters and settings in Wonderland. From the curious Alice and mischievous Cheshire Cat to the eccentric Mad Hatter and royally angry Queen of Hearts, students will develop a deeper understanding of character work as they bring these larger than life characters to the stage. Remember: we’re all mad here… and that’s exactly how the best performances are born!

Teacher:

Ziggy Bernard

Ziggy was in CYT for five years, involved in shows such as The Music Man, Alice in Wonderland, and High School Musical (twice!). Ziggy has a deep passion for all things that involve theater, but especially character building and thusly bringing those characters to life. When not on stage, Ziggy enjoys learning new songs on the piano, drawing, and teaching. Their ultimate goal is to give back what CYT has given them; joy, friendship, and laughter!
