Our summer camps are an exciting way to experience all the fun of Musical Theater!

In Summer Stock camps, Youth performers (8-15 years old) audition and prepare a show in only 2 weeks! Complete with costumes, mics, choreography, harmony singing, and the whole musical theater experience!

Refund policy - No refunds will be given after camps are purchased for any reason unless CYT finds it necessary to cancel the camp altogether. Please do not book camp experiences unless you are certain of your summer plans.

CYT Camps

CYT Branches put on 1 and 2 week-long musical theater Day Camps and Summer Stock Shows for students. Camps are designed to be a fun and energetic immersion into the world of musical theater. Camps are jam-packed with games, activities, and interactive workshops that build performance skills, self-confidence, and teamwork. Our camps include rotations through drama, dance, music, behind-the-scenes workshops, and a concluding performance for family and friends.

CYT Camps are all about fun, friendships, and theatrics. Camps are a great yearly tradition for your child! Themes vary from year to year and change depending on the age group.

Please note: There are no refunds for camps once you have registered.

Counselors

Camp staff includes professional local artists, CYT Production Artistic Teams, and theater specialists. These counselors are high energy, experienced, and love working with kids! CYT aims to hire counselors who are great role models for our students. All CYT counselors have been background checked and trained to adhere to our CYT Mission and Values.

Day Camps

CYT Day Camp is a one-week musical theater camp offered during the summer for students ages 5-12.

Camps are designed to create a hands-on theater experience and are focused on building performance skills, self-confidence, and teamwork. Camp days are filled with Broadway themed musical theater workshops focusing on voice, dance, drama, and games. Campers enjoy making new friends as they build self-confidence and vital performance skills that are useful in all areas of life. Worship, scripture memorization challenges, team-building time, wacky theme days, and high-energy competitive games will also be incorporated, promising you the best experience!

Participants do not need to have any previous experience.

Day Camp Showcase

At the end of Day Camp, students perform in a showcase that they have rehearsed for over the course of their fun-filled week. Parents get to come watch their kids perform the material they have learned in just a short week free of charge! Showcase is a celebration of the week’s work and gives kids a glimpse into the energy and excitement of being part of a full CYT production.

Youth Summer Stock Camps

CYT Summer Stock camps are two-week, Monday through Friday workshops, culminating in a full production on the weekend after the final camp day. A full show will be performed at a local venue with costumes, sets, and props! Parent help is not mandatory but welcome and necessary to put the show together. All students who are enrolled in the camp will be in the show!

Students will audition for roles. They do NOT need to come with anything prepared, but they will be asked to audition on the first Monday.

Backstage Ninjas

Backstage Ninjas campers enjoy an intensive, immersive, two-week workshop designed to teach and hone the skills necessary to be part of the backstage and technical crew for our Summer Stock productions. This camp runs at the same time as the Summer Stock show they are assisting, but has its own counseling staff. The campers will learn skills in sound, lighting, basic set design, props and costumes. Campers must be 13-18 years old.
The Backstage Ninjas camp counts as two specialty classes for those of you interested in earning the CYT Decathlon Award.

Teen/Young Adult Summer Stock and Retreat

High School and College (ages 13-21) performers are invited to audition for and perform in a Broadway-style musical on stage at The Owen in downtown Conroe! They will be preparing through an intensive two-week rehearsal process.
In addition to daily rehearsals, teens and young adults will have time in the evenings for fun and games, praise and worship, and fellowship with old and new friends! Evenings will include dinner each night, and activities such as bowling, karaoke night, drive-in-movie, game night, and other fun outings.
